My short break to Guernsey

We checked in at Leeds Bradford Airport, completely hassle free and made our way to the wonderful VIP Yorkshire Premier Lounge - a MUST if you are flying from Leeds Bradford Airport. It was a pleasure shortly afterwards when we boarded our Aurigny flight to wonderful Guernsey. The flight was very comfortbale and the service was fantastic, the flight duration was just 1 hour 20 minutes. I would recommend Aurigny to anyone who fancies a trip to the wonderful Channel Island Guernsey, the flights operate from Leeds Bradford 4 days a week in both winter and summer months making this an excellent choice for a long weekend away or a midweek short break getaway.

We were lucky enough to stay at the beautful St Pierre Park Hotel located in St Peter's port. The hotel was wonderful and set in such delightful grounds, I was lucky enough to have a room which I could walk straight out onto the terrace and take in the wonderful views this hotel had to offer. The hotel has undergone a £2.5 million refurbishment of the health club and spa which is absolutely amazing! Having only re-opened in July 2016 it now offers a breathtaking swimming pool, marble steam room, dual aspect volcanic stone sauna, experience showers, 5 treatment rooms, a relaxation room and stunning views over looking the lake and the grounds.

During my 2 night stay in Guernsey, we were lucky enough to do a full tour of the island visiting some of the most historic places on the island - The Little Chapel. The Little Chapel is a small chapel in Saint Andrew, Guernsey, and was created back in 1914. My great aunt who is now almost 91 visited this chapel many years ago, so was overwhelmed to see my photographs of the same place now in 2016!

We also did a guided walking tour which was so interesting - whilst you are there be sure to let one of the local guides unveil the secrets and hidden places that make Guernsey so special - you would never see these amazing places on your own.

Although we visited some lovely hotels, I can also now recommend some fabulous self-catering apartments if this would be better suited to you - again in fantastic locations.

Another highlight of my trip was visiting one of the Leading Small Luxury Hotels of the World - Bella Lice Hotel, Restaurant and Spa situated in St Martins, Guernsey. This hotel is located within easy driving distance to St Peter's Port and conveniently located in the town centre of St Martins. If you are looking for the real luxury feel, this hotel is definitely for you, with a gorgeous on site restaurant and such a chilled out vibe. I feel this hotel would be suited to a couple wanting to escape from it all!

During our stay we ate some amazing food and drank amazing wine, the restaurant that stood out to me was The Boathouse in St Peter's Port where we had lunch one day. Perched on the edge of the harbour, The Boathouse is in the Heart of St Peter's Port but, once inside, you feel comfortably removed from all the hustle and bustle!

Nightlife on the Island is very much low key, however there is a great atmosphere in the bars we visited whilst on our Guernsey By Night Tour.
